Fat Woman’s Hill
Remember sitting in front of the TV on Saturday mornings? Munching on a huge bowl of cereal as you watch cartoon characters absolutely defy all the rules of gravity as they run off of cliffs and hold anvils in the air, staring into the camera for dramatic effect before plunging to their death?
That’s basically what happened on this hill. All of the boarders and most of the local hikers around the park refer to this hill as “Fat Woman’s Hill”, due to a larger lady’s very unfortunate experience about 15 years ago. She had just reached the top of the hill when, rather than leaning forward in her saddle like she should have, she leaned straight backwards and rolled right off the back of her horse. *Insert cartoon slow-mo drama here.* She started at the top, and tumbled, head over heels allllll the way down to the bottom of the hill.
And THAT is why we lean forward going up hills, ladies and gentlemen.
